Caraway (carum carvi) Caraway is the fruit of an erect hardy biennial herb similar to a carrot (and like it , a member of the parsley family). It is native to Europe, Asia and North Africa. For many years Holland has been the world's most important commercial source of caraway. Caraway like all biennials, requires a second growing season to mature.
