Corporate social responsibility
An important objective within Catz International is the respect for the people we do business with, including people who might be indirectly involved by our activities like local farmers and communities. In order to safeguard the social compliance within our supply chain, we work according to the SA 8000 standards, which are an integral part of our audits in origin.
Next to our general CSR focus we have always wanted the people in the countries of origin to benefit from the business we are conducting in these same countries. For this reason, we founded the “Catz Charity foundation” which has financed a large number of projects. These projects focus on creating and promoting self-sufficiency and enable vulnerable people to be less dependent on external help.
Charity foundation
We frequently visit the tropical regions in which our products grow. Every time we do so, we are amazed and impressed by the richness of the scenery and nature, the fantastic colours and smells, and the uninhibited hospitality of the people. But there is another side to the coin: we also see poverty and squalor; we see the effects of natural disasters, and we see people living at constant risk of another catastrophe. We cannot close our eyes to this. Indeed, we feel committed to helping, which is why we have decided to set up the Catz Charity Foundation (CCF).
